He has worked for the Leeds & Holbeck Building Society and at the accounts centre for the Burton Group in Harehills. After some years, he returned to Ushaw and continued his studies for the priesthood. He was ordained on 1st July 2000 by Bishop Konstant. Fr. Simon has served in St Austin’s Wakefield, where he was chaplain to Pinderfields Hospital, and in Holy Name, Leeds and Our Lady of Lourdes, Headingley. Marjorie Parker

Is a Leeds lass and her career in all its guises declares her commitment to schools and young people across the diocese and beyond. She taught RE at St Wilfrid's, Featherstone; Halifax Catholic High; Mount St Mary's, Leeds and McAuley High School, Doncaster and has worked with both adults and young people at various retreat centres including St Monica's, Skipton, Woodhall and Myddelton Lodge. In her 'retirement', Marjorie has worked for the Hallam Diocese as a School chaplain and as School Chaplains' Co-ordinator, for the Rainbows organisation (bereaved children) and maintained her long standing commitment to the Faith and Light movement. Marjorie claims her specialities are the teaching of the Gospel through knitting and rugby league. A diehard Leeds Rhinos supporter, she only fights with referees and they tend to come off worse.

Luke Smith

Luke joined the Retreat team in September 2006, he is originally from Wolverhampton. He studied Geography at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and completed his degree in 2004.Since then he has worked in a number of environments including local and national government. He has lived and worked in the Diocese since November 2005. Luke has only had two fights in his life, and he won both of them. He was 3 at the time and is sorry if he hurt anyone.

Sam

Sam joined the team in early September 2006, his interests include running running and running and running some more. He is very nosey and his attempts to infiltrate retreats are thwarted regularly by the director, but he just keeps on running.....

Bess

Bess is the latest edition to the team joining in October 2007. She brings with her a sense of maturity, her interests are in keeping up to date with current affairs, the arts and developing her collection of stamps and reading 19th century poetry.
